Principal's Message

Dear Students, Parents, and Community Members,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the district and our Ansonia High School Website.  We are very proud of our accomplishments and hope that you enjoy being a part of our district family as much as we do.

It is important to note, our high school operates on a four block schedule with each block being 84 minutes long. At the end of each semester, students take final exams and then register for four new classes. The junior high operates on an eight period day with each period being 42 minutes long. Our school day starts at 7:55 am and ends at 2:28 pm.

Outside the classroom, we believe that a well-rounded and connected student is involved in co-curricular activities. We provide a variety of activities for students in which to participate. Research proves that if a student is involved in activities, the overall school success increases, as well as school pride and emotional wellness. We are a member of the Cross County Conference which offers fourteen sports for our students to compete in. In addition to sports, we offer clubs for students interested in the arts, agriculture, and science.

Finally, our high school administration, guidance office and teaching staff are here to serve you and your son/daughter. Please, by all means, don’t hesitate to contact us if we may be assistance in any way. We subscribe to an “open door” policy and welcome the communication.

Go Tigers!
