Local Schools

Title 1

What is Title I
The Title I Program is a federally funded program that is designed to "ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments."(Public Law 107-110)The Ohio Department of Education is responsible for distributing the federal funds and for approving projects on the local level. Ohio's funding is based on census estimates of federal poverty and population counts. Private school students living in these attendance areas may also be eligible for service.
What makes our staff qualified?
Ansonia Local Schools has excellent teachers and para professionals. One hundred percent (100%) of our teachers meet the federal definition of a highly qualified teacher (HQT). Many of our staff members have taken additional college classes to obtain advanced degrees from institutions of higher learning. Many have also participated in numerous workshops and seminars throughout their years of employment with Ansonia Local Schools. These classes and workshops have enabled teachers and para professionals to meet the designation of "highly Qualified" as outlined in the No Child Left Behind federal law. As a parent, you are able to learn about staff member qualifications. For information about public school choice and supplemental educational services, see the link below.
